JOHN KIRK Died At St. Charles Nov. 30

John Kirk long-time resident of the Madison Chapel neighborhood in Clarke county, died on Wednesday of last week at his home near St. Charles, where he had lived in recent years. He was 59 years of age.

Mr. Kirk was a native of England, where he was born at Mumby, Lincoinshire, on Oct. 28, 1885. When he was four years old he came with his parents to Iowa, and in 1892 they settled on a farm in Clarke county.

On Nov. 19, 1912, he was married to Estelle Camp.

Mr. Kirk was a charter member of the Madison Chapel church, where he served as elder and Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Lorimor, the Knight Templar of Osceola, and the O.E.S., which he served as Worthy Patron.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Maxine, son Albert and grandson Dean Baker; also five brothers, six sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Madison Chapel church Sunday, conducted by the Rev. L. F. Davis of Winterset. Burial was held with Masonic rites in the Union cemetery in Clarke county.
