Miss Alpha Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith passed away at midnight Wednesday evening as the result of heart failure. About three months ago she passed through an attack of pneumonia which producted faulty heart action and induced dropsy from which she has suffered more or less ever since. She seemed much improved on Wednesday and got out of bed once during the day-an exertion to which is traced her sudden passing into eternity. Shortly before midnight Mrs. Smith heard Alpha arise from her bed and in a few moments call for water. When she entered the bedroom her daughter's life was at an end.

Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church at 2:30 Friday afternoon and interment made in the local cemetery.
