Francis Boyd Claypool, son of Floyd and Rosie Claypool, was born in Adair county, Iowa, Oct. 12, 1916, and passed away at his parents' home in Macksburg, Jan. 29, 1939, after an illness of nine months, at the age of twenty-two years, three months and 17 days.

He endured his illness bravely and with much patience.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Floyd, who passed away in 1922.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his father and mother, two brothers, Kenneth Leroy and Lester Laverne, one sister, Shirley Louise, all of Macksburg. His grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lyn Conway of Afton and Mrs. Emma Petzoldt of Castorland, New York, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Francis attended the Macksburg school, where he made many friends who knew him as one who was willing to share with all.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at two o'clock at the Macksburg Methodist church, conducted by Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
