Mrs. Mary Clark Tusha, wife of Andrew Tusha, died at Elida, N. M. , following a three weeks illness. At the annual reunion of old settlers held here last week, Mrs. Tusha's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Clark, were honored on the medallion souvenir, which carried a likeness of these pioneers of 1846.

Mrs. Andrew Tusha, whose serious illness was noted the past two weeks, died at her home in Elida, New Mexico, Friday, Sept. 7th, at the age of 76 years. Mrs. Tusch was stricken with paralysis three weeks ago, which resulted in her death.

Mary Clark was a daughter of Caleb and Ruth Clark, pioneer settlers of this county, and had the distinction of being the first white child born in Madison county. She was born near Saint Charles, Jan. 9, 1847 and later with her parents moved to near Winterset, where her childhood and the greater part of her married life was spent.

Mr. and Mrs. Tusha later moved to St. Charles, and some 20 years ago, went to New Mexico, where they have since resided. Mrs. Tusha was the mother of four children, two of whom preceded her in death, the others are Mrs. Tina Allen of Clovis, N. M., and Edward of Elida, N. M. Besides the aged husband, two children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she leaves three brothers and three sisters, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and burial made at Elida.
