GEORGE HODSON Is At Rest

Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Howard assisted by Rev. Hill. A large number of sorrowing friends, all that the house could accommodate thus attested their devotion. Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.

The following account of the life which has passed from us was read at the service:

On December 31st, 1857, in Clinton Co. Ohio, to Cary and Susan Hodson, was born a son, and they called him George Allen.

When he was twelve years old his parents moved to Dallas Co. Iowa, the long journey being made in a covered wagon which was the mode of travel in that day. During his residence in Dallas Co. he was united in marriage to Honor Bilderback.

In Feb. 1895, Mr. Hodson, with his family, moved to Earlham, where he resided until his death which occurred at his home last Tuesday evening (June 15, 1920) at half past ten o'clock.

Mr. Hodson has been known during his residence with us as an honest, upright citizen, always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. He was a kind and loving husband and father. During the past four years he has served the town faithfully and well and his going away will leave a vacancy that perhaps can never be filled.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and daughter, Veda, little Blanche at the age of ten years having preceded her father to the heavenly home, four sisters, three half-sisters, other relatives, and a host of neighbors and friends.
