OBITUARY

Jesse Leeper, son of Hesikiah and Nancy Leeper was born December 20, 1864 in Holmes county, Ohio, and passed away at his home in Earlham, on July 4, 1939 his age being 74 years, six months and 14 days.

At the age of five he moved from Ohio with his parents to Dallas county, Iowa, settling on a farm east of Redfield. The family later moved to Penn township in Madison county, where he spent the greater part of his life before moving to Earlham which has been his home for over 20 years.

He was united in marriage to Lydia Eppard on April 16, 1891.

To this union three children were born Lloyd, Carroll, and Gladys. Sharing this home for 11 years was Clarence R. Eppard, a nephew.

He united with the Penn Center Methodist church early in life, and later with the Christian Church. For many years he served as elder and deacon in the Earlham and Early Chapel churches. He was always in attendance at service as long as his health would permit. He was an affectionate husband, a kind and loving father, and a true friend.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two sons Lloyd and Carroll and daughter Mrs. Emmett Cook, 11 grandchildren, one gret granddaughter, one sister Mrs. Catherine Garmire of Dexter. In addition to the above many other relatives and a host of friends.
