EMPLOYE AT LAKE DIED HERE FRIDAY

Merritt Allen, age 26, an employe of the Lowe Construction company on the lake project here, died at the Winterset hospital Friday after a brief illness.

Allen was brought to the hospital Thursday night. He had been suffering from a head infection for some time. He had been under the care of a physician for about a week, and had been ordered to bed on the Saturday preceeding his death.

His condition took a turn for the worse last week when the head infection suddenly spread through his system, resulting in a kidney infection that proved fatal.

Allen's home was in Manchester, and the body was sent there for funeral services and burial.
