DEATH OF MRS. PATTON

Along during the month of August, Mr. H. G. Patton, who resides on the old Tapley place west of town, took his wife to Rochester, Minn., for a surgical operation. This operation was successfully performed and it was thought the lady would speedily recover, but last week, she suffered a relapse and died on Saturday. The remains were taken to Friend, Nebr., her old home for interment.

Mrs. H. G. Patton Dead

Mrs. H. G. Patton who was taken to Rochester, Minnesota in early August for an operation, died there Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Mr. Patton received a telegram Saturday to come at once and arrived there after she was dead. She seemed to be recovering nicely from the operation which was on August 6, and it was supposed that her recovery was certain.

The news of her death was a great shock to the many friends of the family, both in Winterset and in the country. The funeral and burial were at Friend, Nebraska, where Mr. and Mrs. Patton lived before coming to Winterset.
