Mrs. Mary Angevine

Mary Vinson was born in Wisconsin January 29, 1839, and moved to Illinois when a small child, where she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to H. L. Angevine in March 1859. There were born to this union two of whom died in infancy, leaving Louis H. as the only surviving child. The family moved to Des Moines in 1868, where they lived until 1876, when they moved to Winterset. The father H. L. Angevine died here April 10, 1888 and the mother made her home with her son here and in Colorado, (where they had removed in 1905) until the end came quietly and peacefully on Dec. 29, 1916.

The remains were brought to Winterset by her son, L. H. Angevine and quietly laid to rest in Rock City cemetery on the evening of Jan. 1st, 1917. Mrs. Angevine joined the Methodist Episcopal church when a young girl and continued a consistent member thereof until the end of her long and useful life.
