MRS. KATIE HAMNER DIES AT WINTERET

Mrs. Katie Bell Hamner, 74, a longtime resident of Creston and a former Madison county resident died at a nursing home in Winterset Saturday, November 28th. She had been ill for six weeks.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hamner were held at the First Baptist church in Creston last Tuesday. Rev. Norman State, the pastor, conducted the services assisted by Rev. Walter Cecil. Burial was at the Spaulding cemetery.

Katie Bell Traister was born at Defiance, Missouri, April 22, 1879, the daughter of William and Mary Lines Traister. She was married at St. Joseph, Missouri August 22, 1934 to Etna Hamner who formerly operated a furniture store in Creston. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hammner (Hamner) is survived by five stepchildren and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Fannie Faux of Winterset.
