WALTER E. WEBB

Walter E. Webb was born near Sutherland, Iowa to Phoebe Adella Hill Webb and Charles James Webb, September 4, 1896 and passed away June 27, 1971 at the Veterans hospital, Des Moines, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 23 days.

In 1918 he joined the armed forces and served his country in the Philippine Islands. He belonged to American Legion Post No. 158 in Earlham.

On February 27, 1922 he was united in marriage to Edna Blanche Countryman near Adel, and spent several years in and around this community. In 1927 he moved to Earlham and spent his remaining years in this community.

His wife, parents and one sister Myrtle preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, two sisters, Edith Warren Farmington, Washington and Ruth Johnson and husband John of Estherville; and one brother, Reuben and wife Christine of Adel, also a host of nieces and nephews.

Walter loved little children and Monday night was popcorn night at his home as long as he was able to pop it.
