Long-Time Madison County Resident Was 74 Years of Age
Fred F. Lytle, a resident of Madison county nearly all of his life, died Saturday, April 30, at the home of his son, Wendell Lytle of Des Moines, where he had lived in recent years. He was 74 years of age, and had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Lytle was born at St. Charles July 24, 1874, the son of J. M. and Jennie Porter Lytle. His active years were spent in farming near Truro. He later lived in Winterset.
He was married December 19, 1899, to Myrtle Roberts. They were the parents of five children, one son dying in infancy. The wife and mother died in 1929. Surviving are two sons, Lyle Lytle of Webster City and Wendell Lytle of Des Moines; and two daughters, Fay Lytle of Winterset and Mrs. Maxine McMurray of Odell, Ore.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Mr. Hall. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
