Life-Long Resident Died in Creston Hospital, Aged 69 Years
Lawrence A. Pinckney, life-long resident of the Macksburg community, died last Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Creston hospital. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Pinckney was born four miles northeast of Macksburg on May 23, 1879, the son of Alvin and Ella Pinckney. He was married March 10, 1901, to May Weeks. They lived on the home farm until 1920, when they moved into Macksburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. A. E. Taylor of Des Moines, and Mrs. Rosilla Cameron of Ankeny.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Caldwell of the Macksburg Baptist church. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
