Funeral services for David Denly, 104, who died August 14, 1990 at West View Care Center, Indianola, were held Thurs., August 16 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Officiating was Rev. Tapiwa Mucherera and Rev. James Nicholson with burial at the Hartman Cemetery in Madison County.
Mr. Denly, son of Edward Denly and Maria Ayre Denly, was born in Clarke County near Lacelle on August 10, 1886. On October 11, 1906, he was married to Amy Patterson in Osceola. He attended Clarke County rural schools during his youth and was a retired farmer. He was also a 64 year member of Ivy Lodge #483 at Truro which is now Model Lodge #315 Ivy Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Truro.
Surviving Mr. Denly is daughter, Mrs. Alice Bishop and husband, Kenneth; daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Middleswart and husband, Jim, all of Indianola; son, George and wife, Edna of San Diego, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Hilda Nicholson and husband, Jim, Truro; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Amy in 1976; son, Ben in 1955; two grandchildren; four brothers, Will, Harry, Charles and Fredrick; and one sister, Ada Nelson.

Centenarian David Denly of Truro died at the age of 104, at West View Care Center in Indianola August 14, 1990.
Services were Thursday, Aug. 16 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. The Rev. Tapiwa Mucherera and the Rev. James Nicolson officiated. Burial was in Hartman Cemetery in Madison County.
Mr. Denly, the son of Edward and Maria Ayre Denly was born August 10, 1886 near Lacelle in Clarke County. He attended Clarke County rural schools.
He was married Oct. 11, 1906 to Amy Patterson at Osceola. The couple were the parents of four children.
