WILLIAM LARRY WILD - De Soto

Larry Wild, 67, died Thursday, February 15, 2007, at home from cancer. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Oakland Cemetery near De Soto. Friends may call after noon on Sunday, at McCalley Funeral Home where family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Larry was born in Earlham, November 16, 1939, to Oscar and Ethel Wild (Davis). He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army. He married Patricia Warden on December 10, 1966. They had four children, including an infant that died at birth. They lived in De Soto for 40 years.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Pat; daughter, Stacy (Ted) Pfau; son, Terry (Lonnie) Wild; three grandchildren, Keegan, Claire, and Lucas; two sisters, Mary Lou (Lou) Novak, Pat Betz; brother, Jerry (Linda) Wild; two half brothers, Jack (Karen) Davis and Jim (Brenda) Davis; two half sisters, Judy (Craig) Davis and Bev (Paul) Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; two half brothers, Junior and Mike Davis; and a brother-in- law, James Walker.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working with his John Deere tractor, and watching sports with his children.

Memorial contributions may be made to the De Soto United Methodist Church, De Soto Fire Department, or Hospice of Central Iowa.
