Elizabeth Jane Easley, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Easley was born near Salem, Henry county, Iowa, June 8, 1851. A few years later her parents moved to Marion county and settled near Swan. On February 26, 1879 she was united in marriage to Henry Leutzinger and they founded a home near Pleasantville. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive her, Mrs. Glen Ballard of near Macksburg, John A. Leutzinger of Osage, Canada, and Mrs. Ralph Hammans of Lorimor.
She also leaves to mourn her loss, three grandchildren, Mrs. A. Slaybaugh of Arispe, Jack Hammans of Lorimor and Eleanore Leutzinger of Canada and a host of friends.
At the age of 19 she was converted to the Christian faith and joined the Methodist Episcopal church.
Though in failing health for several weeks her death came unexpectedly Sunday morning January 1, 1932 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Ralph Hammans.
Funeral services were held at the Lorimor Methodist church on Tuesday, January 3, conducted by Rev. O. E. Cooley of Pleasantville, a former pastor and Rev. Mrs. Wolfe of Lorimor. Interment was at Pleasantville.
