OBITUARY

Tide Slavens, son of William and Adeline Slavens was born in Henric county, Indiana, September 5th, 1884. Tide spent his earlier life up to the time he was twenty in Indiana and then came to live in Iowa where he united in marriage with Ella Marie Pearson, who preceded him in death on October 11th, 1945. To this union was born four children, Guy William, Ila Wynette, Roy Wyman in hospital at Knoxville and Donald of Des Moines.

He suffered with heart trouble for several months and passed away in the Still hospital Sunday morning, October 17th, 1948. He leaves to mourn his passing three sons and one daughter and two older brothers, Oder and Jesse of Indiana and Nitus of Earlham. Three brothers, Garner, Earnest and Guy and two sisters, Myrtle and Maggie preceded him in death. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Earlham cemetery.
