JAN KELLY, Winterset

Jan Kelly, 43, of Winterset died Feb. 11, 2007, at Iowa Lutheran Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, Feb. 14) from 1–7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton.

Jan Kelly was born March 2, 1963, in Des Moines to Michael and Nancy (Werner) Kelly. She grew up in Afton, graduating from East Union High School in 1981. She attended college in Maryville, Mo., and Southwestern Community College in Creston, where she received a nursing degree. During her career, Jan primarily worked as a pool nurse for various hospitals and doctors’ offices. She also was a member of the Mid Day Connection Bible Study Group and volunteered at her son’s school.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Darrel Werner; paternal grandparents, Charles and Florenz Kelly; and maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Culver.

She is survived by one son, Race Kelly of Winterset; her parents, Michael and Nancy, of Winterset; a sister, Julie Ingram of Winterset; and her grandmother, Maxine Werner of Shannon City.

Memorial contributions may be directed to a fund which has been established in her name.
