Death of Mrs. Phillip Moore

Mrs. Phillip Moore, an aged resident of Winterset, died at her home Thursday, March 27th at the age of 81 years. She had made this county her home since in 1850 when she moved to Scott township with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Crawford, when she was a child two years of age. She was married to Mr. Moore, March 7, 1867 and they were the parents of eight children, four of whom have preceded the mother in death.

She leaves a son, Homer, of Stockton, California and three daughters, Mrs. Olive Morris of Mullen, Nebraska; Mrs. Pearl Hartman of Creston; and Miss Emma, in the home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Moore was held in the Primitive Baptist church Sunday afternoon March 30th, conducted by Rev. W. A. Holmes of Newton, assisted by Rev. A. W. Thompson of Casey and N. J. Woods of St. Charles. The burial was in the Baptist cemetery.
