March 6, 1912

Nancy Ann Moore was born in Kendall county, Illinois, Oct. 21, 1847 and departed this life Feb. 29, 1912 at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 9 days. When five years of age she moved with her parents to Madison county, Iowa. On April 28, 1867, she was united in marriage to Stephen Pope. This union was blessed by three children, John of Woolsey, Kans., Mrs. May Sawyer and Mrs. Etta Hamblin who reside here.

In 1901 she united with the Church of Christ and remained a faithful Christian. She was a devoted mother, kind and charitable neighbor. Through great suffering she endured it all with remarkable patience.

Funeral services were held in the M. E. church at Webster, Feb. 20th, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial in the Roberts cemetery in Adair county.

Mrs. Steven Pope, who has been ill all winter, died Thursday and was buried Saturday at Webster.
