Both Reported Killed While Fighting Germans on Western Front
The lives of two more Madison county soldiers have been spent upon the field of battle, according to information made public within the last week. They are:
First Lieut. Rex Wade of Winterset,
Corp. Clyde Lull of Patterson[Lieutenant Wade's obituary follows]
Corp. Clyde Lull, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lull of Patterson, who was reported missing in action in France in a message received by his parents on Dec. 3, is officially reported as killed in action in a telegram received here Sunday of last week.
Corporal Lull had been overseas about two months, landing in southern France. The second War department message said that he had been killed on Nov. 14.
The young soldier was 28 years of age. He was born in Warren county on Dec. 27, 1915, but most of his life was spent on a farm near Patterson. He was a graduate of the Patterson high school, and before the war was engaged in farming with his father.
He entered the army on March 3, 1942 and served for two years with an anti-aircraft battery in New Jersey. Last summer he was re-assigned and sent overseas.
In addition to his parents, he leaves four brothers, Rex Lull of Ames, Corp. Roy Lull of the U. S. army, Lloyd Lull of Stuart and Robert Lull, Jr. at home; and one sister, Mary Jo Lull at home.

June 2, 1948BODY OF PATTERSON SOLDIER IS RETURNED
The body of Cpl. Clyde Lull, Patterson soldier who was killed in action in France during the recent war, was brought home to rest in the Montpelier cemetery there on Tuesday of last week.
Services were held for the young soldier from the Patterson Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Oren Hall.
Corporal Lull was killed in action in France on Nov. 14, 1944, while serving with the 100th, division. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lull of Patterson.
