The young man was a student at junior high school.

He was born Aug. 20, 1907 at Greenfield, Iowa. The family had lived for many years in Winterset, Iowa and came to Fort Scott from Emporia, Kans., last June. His schoolmates were grieved to learn of his death.

Short services were held in Fort Scott and the body was shipped to Winterset for burial, arriving here April 29th.
