JAMES SALSBURY OF PATTERSON DIES

Lived Nearly Half Century of Married Life in That Community

James C. Salsbury, well-known resident of the Patterson community, died Saturday, May 4 at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset, after an extended illness. He was 67 years of age.

Mr. Salsbury was a native of Iowa county, where he was born Jan. 17, 1890, a son of Jesse E. and Rhoda Salsbury. He was married March 25, 1908, to Nelle E. Brock, and their 48 years of married life were spent in this county. They were parents of six children, one son, Russell, preceding the father in death.

Surviving are his wife; five children, Mrs. Hazel Goodwin of Winterset, Mrs. Gladys Courtney of Norwalk, Jesse Salsbury of Carroll, Lowell Salsbury of Des Moines and Delbert Salsbury of Seattle, Wash.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Patterson Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Pine. Burial was made in Montpelier cemetery at Patterson.
