PERU RESIDENT DIES AT MURRAY

Death Occurred Saturday for Mrs. Lou Porter of Peru

Mrs. Lou Porter of Peru died Saturday, Sept. 21, at a nursing home in Murray, at the age of 77 years.

Mrs. Porter was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was the former Mary Ellen White, daughter of James and Elizabeth White. She was born Nov. 14, 1879. Her marriage to Lou Porter occurred Sept. 10, 1903, in Des Moines.

She was a long-time member of the Peru Methodist church.

She leaves her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Davis of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. George L. Johnson of Creston; a son, Frank Porter of Galesburg, Ill.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Effie Foster of Des Moines, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Monday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. George DeF. Fisher pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
