ROBERT C. GRAHAM OF MACKSBURG DIES

Life-Long Resident of This County Was 75 Years of Age

Robert C. Graham, a life-long resident of Madison county, died last Thursday, Oct. 28 at the Creston hospital after several months of failing health. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Graham was born near Winterset, Aug. 18, 1873, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Thomson Graham. He was married to Mabel Stewart on March 9, 1897. Their married life was spent in the Macksburg community. The wife died in 1943.

Surviving are his children, Arlie Graham of Greenfield, Earl and Wyman Graham of Orient, Russell Graham of Hollydale, Calif., Mrs. Joe Vogl of Omaha, and Mrs. John Ross of Macksburg. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Wesley Jacobsen of Creston, and Mrs. C. O. Bishop of Orient; and three brothers, Will Graham of Spokane, Wash., Walter Graham of Oil City, La., and Roscoe Graham of Des Moines; in addition to nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Macksburg Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Claude Calkins. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.

Robert C. Graham Dies Here Today

Robert C. Graham, 75, of Macksburg, died at 10:45 a.m. today at Greater Community hospital here. He had been ill for six months.

Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church at Macksburg at 2 p. m. Saturday. Rev. Claude Calkins of Lorimor will officiate. Burial will be in the Macksburg cemetery. His body will remain at the Deitrick and Keating chapel here until the time of the services.

Robert C. Graham was born in Madison county, Iowa, August 18, 1873. He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Thompson Graham. He was married at Macksburg, in 1897, to Mabel Stewart, who preceded him in death August 29, 1943.

Mr. Graham, a retired farmer, lived in Macksburg until a year ago when he came to Creston to make his home with his sister, Mrs. Wesley Jacobson. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are four sons, Arlie Graham of Greenfield, Earl and Wyman Graham of Orient, and Russell Graham in California; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Vogle of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. John Ross of Macksburg; two sisters, Mrs. Wesley Jacobson of Creston and Mrs. C. O. Bishop of Orient; and three brothers, W. A. Graham of Spokane, Wish., W. N. Graham of Oil City, La., and S. R. Graham of Des Moines.

Robert Culbertson Graham

Robert Culbertson Graham was born near Winterset, Madison Co., Iowa, Aug. 18, 1873 and passed away Oct. 28, 1948, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 10 days.

He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Thomson Graham. He was married March 9, 1897 to Mabel E. Stewart who preceded him in death Aug. 29, 1943.

Their married life was lived in the Macksburg community.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are six children, Arlie, of Greenfield; Earl and Wyman of Orient, Russell of Hollydale, Calif., Mrs. Joe Vogl of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. John Ross of Macksburg. Two sisters, Mrs. Wesley Jacobson of Creston and Mrs. C. O. Bishop of Orient. Three brothers, Will of Spokane, Wash., Walter of Oil City, La., and Roscoe of Des Moines. Also nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Macksburg Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2 p. m. conducted by Rev. Claude Calkiins. Music by Mrs. Earle Whitworth, Mrs. Thos. Baker, Jay Steele, Jay Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Baker.

Pallbearers were Elmer Eivins, Doyle Schutz, Ray Binns, Frank Ross, Frank Doty, Ernest Bonham. Burial was in Moon cemetery.
