Wednesday, November 25, 1970HENRY SWEET DIES AT 87 YEARS
Henry Sweet, retired Madison county farmer and life-long resident of this community, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Horton Nursing Home here. He had retired just two years ago and had been a resident of the nursing home recently. He was 87 years of age.
Mr. Sweet was born in Madison county Jan. 16, 1883, a son of George and Ruth Pope Sweet.
He never married and nearest surviving relatives are three brothers, Oliver and James Sweet of Winterset and Charles Sweet of Sioux City; and a sister, Mrs. Rachel Wiggins of Toledo, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church. Burial was made in Winterset cemetery.
