James F. Weaver, a life-long resident of the Peru community, died at a Winterset nursing home Monday, Nov. 9, after an extended illness. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. Weaver was born at Peru Dec. 19, 1873, a son of William and Jane Weaver. During the greater part of his life he engaged in farming. He also worked as a carpenter.

He was married Oct. 31, 1896 to Caroline F. Scholl. They were parents of two daughters and one son. The wife and mother died in 1936.

Surviving are the two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Hull of Peru and Mrs. Daisy Kilgore of Winterset; the son, James W. Weaver of Winterset; two grandchildren; a brother, Newt Weaver of West Des Moines; and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Seifred and Mrs. Rhoda Gifford of Peru, and Mrs. Mell Dragoo of Red Oak.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Peru Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
