Mary A. Dorris

Mary A. Herring was born in Fulton County, Illinois, February 3, 1848. Her family moved to Warren County, Illinois, where they lived till she grew to womanhood.

She joined the Methodist Protestant Church at the age of sixteen, and has always lived a quiet, consistent Christian life. She was married to William Henry Dorris August 20, 1868, and to them eight children were born, five of whom are gone before. Mr. Dorris died December 22, 1920, and since her husband’s death she has made her home with her daughter Mrs. F. H. Parsons, of Earlham.

Her son Earl M. Dorris lives at Osage, Wyoming, and another daughter Mrs. Lois Worth. She is also survived by one sister who is an invalid at Shannon City, Iowa. There are also six living grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
