Wednesday, April 5, 1922Jacob Pope who has been sick for some time with cancer of the stomach died Saturday evening at 5 o'clock. Mr. Pope was an old settler.
He has a wife, two brothers and one sister and a host of nieces and nephews that thought there was no one as good as Uncle Jake. His many friends extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved wife.
He will be buried in the Wight cemetery.

Jacob Pope of Webster township passed away at his home on April 1st, aged 69 years.
When he was four years old, the Popes came from Illinois to Webster township and there Mr. Pope lived until his death a period of 64 years. He raised stock and farmed in a competent way and held a strong place in his neighborhood.
Funeral services were held at the Webster church Tuesday morning in charge of the pastor of Oak Grove church, followed by burial in the Wight cemetery.

Jacob Pope
Jacob Pope, son of Stephen and Eliza Pope, was born February 25, 1853, in Freeport, Illinois, and died at his home near Webster, April 1, 1922, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 7 days.
He came to Iowa with his parents when but four years old and this has been his home ever since.
He was married to Miss Eunice Elmyra Weeks, November 19, 1904. He was converted in August 1914, and joined the M. E. church at Webster.
He has left to mourn his death, his wife, two brothers and one sister.
The funeral services were conducted from the home by Rev. H. W. Hendricks.
