MRS. ELLA HOLLAND DIES

Mrs. Ella Myra Holland, former St. Charles resident, died Friday, March 12th at the St. Paul hospital in St. Paul, Minn., at the age of 67 years. Her funeral services were held Tuesday, March 16 at the Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines, and burial was made in the Glendale cemetery there.

Mrs. Holland was the daughter of John and Margaret Lyon; she was born March 9, 1881 in Jasper county, near Kellogg. She came to St. Charles with her parents when she was a small girl. She resided there until after her marriage to Frederic Clee Van Scoy in 1900. They were the parents of two sons, Lot and Wayne.

In 1916 she was married to Walter Holland, who preceded her in death in 1926. They were the parents of one son, Henry Horace, who was killed in World War II, October 25, 1944, on Leyte, in the Phillipine Islands.

Mrs. Holland is survived by her two sons, Lot and Wayne Van Scoy of St. Paul, one brother, Luther Lyon of St. Charles and several nieces and nephews.
