LILLIE McKINNEY DIED HERE FRIDAY

Resident of This County Half Century Was 81 Years Old

Mrs. Lillie McKinney, resident of Madison county for half a century, died at the Peterson Nursing home in Winterset, Friday, March 26, after five years of failing health. She was 81 years of age.

Mrs. McKinney was the former Lillie Louisa Shepherd, only daughter of David and Amanda Shepherd. She was born March 12, 1867.

She was married Sept. 3, 1888 to Marion McKinney, at Carlisle. They lived for many years near Patterson.

Her husband and three children preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Leonard McKinney of Des Moines; and two daughters, Mrs. Janice Pedersen of Des Moines, and Mrs. Fern McClain of near Lorimor. She also leaves three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Frank Moore. Burial was made in the Lowman cemetery at Runnells.
