JOSEPH W. PICKEN OF ST. CHARLES IS DEAD

Respected Citizen of That Community Was 64 Years of Age

St. Charles (Special)--Joseph W. Picken, aged 64, a highly respected citizen of St. Charles, died at the Osceola hospital Monday, June 21. He had been stricken fatally ill the preceding day, after being in delicate health for some time.

Mr. Picken was a native of the St. Charles vicinity, and spent his entire life here. He was a graduate of the St. Charles high school. He had engaged in both farming and banking here.

Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Louie Bean; three sisters, Ruth Picken, Mrs. Elizabeth Knott and Mrs. Myrtle Hayden; a brother, Graham Picken; a half sister, Mrs. Helen Browne of Wyoming; and a half brother, Clyde Picken.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Oren Hall. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
