MRS KATE HUFFMAN OF WINTERSET DIES

Native of Germany Had Live 28 Years in Madison County

Mrs. Kate Huffman, a native of Germany and a resident of Madison county for 28 years, died Monday, July 15, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Huffman was born in Germany on Jan. 16, 1867, a daughter of Casper and Katherina Beck. She came to America when she was 14 years of age. She lived 20 years in California, and 28 years in Madison county, Her home had been in Winterset in recent years.

She was married to Warren Huffman at Greenfield on March 23, 1899. He preceded her in death.

Nearest surviving relatives are a sister, Mrs. Paulina Homeyer, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
