GEORGE BAUER OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Had Lived All of Long Life on One Farm, Except 10 Years

George L. Bauer, long-time South township farmer, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines Tuesday at the age of 79 years. He had been in failing health for several years, and had been a patient at the hospital for the last six weeks.

All of Mr. Bauer's life, with the exception of 10 years in Des Moines, was spent on the farm near St. Charles where he was born Feb. 11, 1869.

He never married and his nearest surviving relatives are two brothers, Charles Bauer of California, and Julius Bauer of New York City.

Funeral services will be this Thursday, about noon, from Lilly's funeral home in Des Moines, and burial will be held that afternoon in the Union Chapel cemetery in this county. There will also be brief services at the graveside.
