MICHAEL LOFTUS, 83, DIES IN DES MOINES

Michael Loftus, retired Crawford township farmer, who had been living at Indianola in recent years, died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines Sunday. He had been a patient there since suffering a stroke 10 days ago. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Loftus had spent most of his life farming north of Bevington, and was widely known throughout that community.

Nearest surviving relatives are his sister, Mrs. Mariah Gallagher and Mrs. Agnes Hanrahan, both of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee township, and burial was made in the cemetery there. (St. Patrick's cemetery)
