ASHFORD L. FOSTER BURIED AT WINTERSET

The body of Ashford L. Foster, whose death had occurred in California on Feb. 21, is being brought here this week for burial in the Winterset cemetery. There will be grave side services this Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in charge of the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church.

Mr. Foster’s death occurred at Long Beach, Calif., at the age of 97 years. He was born in Madison county Dec. 4, 1859, a son of John C. and Harriett Orr Foster. He lived here until 1919, engaging in the farming, school teaching and cement business here. He was a member of the Long Beach Methodist church.

His wife died in 1949. a son, Dr. Lloyd T. Foster of Greenfield, and an infant daughter, also preceded him in death. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Nellie F. Gates of Laguna Beach, Calif., and three grandchildren.
