Native of Kentucky, Lived Most of Life in Madison county
Charles E. Husted, a life-long resident of Madison county, died last Thursday, Feb. 5, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Foreman of Winterset. He was 76 years of age.
Mr. Husted was born March 27, 1871, near Truro. His active years were spent in farming in this county. When his health started failing 20 years ago, he moved to Winterset, and this community was his home until his death.
He was married Jan. 291, 1907, to Martha A. Putnam, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Foreman and Mrs. Hazel Oglesbee of Winterset, and Mrs. Grace Goode of Noland, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Bob Brown of Winterset; and two brothers, Elvin Husted of St. Charles, and Ora Husted of Des Moines; in addition to 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday from Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
