Mrs. Rolla Cumings, a life-long resident of Madison and Warren counties, died last Wednesday, July 3, at her home at Prole, She was 56 years of age.

Mrs. Cumings was the former Alice E. Strable, a daughter of Frank and Sarah E. Strable. She was born three miles south of Bevington on July 22, 1900.

She was married Oct. 1, 1918, to Rolla Cumings, who survives her. She also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Dale Letz and Mrs. Bernard Hollingsworth of Winterset, and Mrs. Bill Green of Truro; a son, Alvin R. Cumings of Prole; seven grandchildren; five brothers, Ernest Guy and Raymond Strable of St. Charles, Vernon Strable of Des Moines and Carl Strable of Prole; and two sisters, Mrs. Evalina Roth of St. Charles and Mrs. Bertha Straud of Martensdale.

Funeral services were held from the Martensdale Community church, in charge of the Rev. Virgil Bunjer. Burial was made in Blair Chapel cemetery.
