Farmer Near Earlham Many Years Dies at Age Of 58 Years
Frank Clampitt of Adel, a long-time resident of the Earlham community, died Monday, Nov. 25 in a Des Moines hospital, after a lingering illness. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Clampitt spent about 30 years of his life farming in the Earlham community, moving to Adel about three years ago.
He was born in Madison county March 8, 1899, a son of Dave and Annis Clampitt.
Surviving are his wife, the former Bess Smith; his mother, Mrs. Annis Clampitt of Winterset; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Vaughn and Mrs. Shirley Anker, both of Earlham; a brother, Lee Clampitt of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Tilton of Winterset, and Mrs. Elsie Platt of Earlham and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon from the Fisher Funeral home in Adel, with burial in the Winterset cemetery.

Frank Clampitt, 58, died Monday at the General hospital in Des Moines. He had been ill for several months.
Funeral services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home in Adel Wednesday afternoon, with burial at the Winterset cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Vaughn and Mrs. Charles Anker and four grandchildren. He farmed in this community for many years and for the past several years farmed near Adel.
