Manager of Winterset Motel Is Stricken By Heart Attack
Ernest W. Blake, operator of the Maple Leaf motel in Winterset, died at his home here Monday, Dec. 2, as a result of a heart attack. He was 37 years of age.
Mr. Blake had been a resident of Winterset the past four years. He was a native of Churdan, where he was born Dec. 10, 1919, a son of William and Hattie McClain Blake. He was married at Jefferson on Sept. 20, 1944, to Naomi L. Namur. They were parents of a daughter, Donna Jean.
He was a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Hettie G. Blake; a sister, Mrs. Esther Nelson of San Leandro, Calif. And two brothers, John Blake of Albuquerque, N. Mex., and Jean Blake of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
