Life-Long Resident of This County Was 76 Years Of Age
Walter Bartlett of Winterset died last Friday, Nov. 22, at a nursing home here, at the age of 76 years.
A retired farmer, Mr. Bartlett was a life-long resident of Madison county. His home had been in Winterset in recent years.
He was a son of Edwin and Sarah Richmond Bartlett, and was born in this county on Aug. 9, 1861.
Surviving are his wife, the former Julia Gates; two brothers, Harley Bartlett of Winterset and Ervin Bartlett of Seattle, Wash,’ and two half brothers, Russell of Independence, Mo., and James of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services were held this Monday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
