Death Georgianna Hurlbut

On Wednesday March 9th, occurred the death of Mrs. Georgianna Hurlbut at her home in the south part of town. She was born October 4, 1847, being a little past 84 years of age.

On August 31, 1869, she was united in marriage to John Hurlbut at Muscatine, Iowa. To this union was born two sons, Earl and Ralph who survive her, also one adopted daughter, Mrs. Edna Wallace, five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Grandma Hurlbut as she was known to her friends was interested and active in church work as long as her health would permit. She was also much interested in W.C.T.U. having been a member of this organization for many years. She had been totally deaf a long time and having contracted the flu a few weeks ago, was suddenly stricken with blindness followed by a cerebral hemorrhage living only a few days.

Her funeral was held Friday morning at the M. E. church of which she had been a member since childhood conducted by her pastor, Rev. Nixon, and burial was made at Indianola beside the husband who passed away twenty-two years ago.
