BENJAMIN CLARK OF OREGON DIES

Member of Pioneer Madison County Family Stricken in South Dakota

Benjamin B. Clark, member of a pioneer Madsion county family, died Sept. 11 at White Owl, S. Dak., where he was visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Grace Long.

Mr. Clark was born at Winterset April 26, 1873, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Denny Clark. He left here in 1906, living at Mitchell, S. Dak., from 1906 to 1934. Since then he had made his home at Talent, Ore. He was a brick mason by trade.

He was married here to Cynthia O. Mills. They were the parents of eight children. The wife and mother died in 1941, and he subsequently married Anna Dickey, who survives him.

In addition to the wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Long of White Owl, Mrs. Hazel Brown of Rogersville, Mo., and Mrs. Phoebe McDowell of Talent, Ore.; four sons, Ray M. of Jacksonville, Ore., Allen M., of Cascade Locks, Ore., Delbert of Lamoore, Calif., and George of Medford, Ore.; 25 grandchildren; one great grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Nora Cronin of Portland.

Funeral services and burial were held near Talent.
