MRS. JESS NELSON

Erma Louise Nellis was born on January 7, 1918 in Earlham and died at her home here on March 26, 1956 at an age of 38 years, two months and 19 days. She was educated in the Earlham schools and was graduated from high school with the class of 1935.

On August 4, 1937, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Jess Leroy Nelson. Three children were born to this union, Geraldine, Maxine and Carol, all of whom survive to mourn her loss. Also surviving her are her mother, Myrtle Nellis of West Des Moines; three brothers, Clyde Nellis of Manatee, Florida; Ivan Nellis and Delbert Nellis both of Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Helen Gilleland of Winterset; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her brother, Donald in 1943 and her father in 1945.

Mrs Nelson was a member of the Earlham Methodist church and of the Womans society for Christian Service. For several years she served as a teacher in the Sunday Church School. She was an affectionate wife and mother and was friendly, helpful and kind in all her relationships with others. Besides her devoted family and relatives, she leaves a host of friends to mourn her death.
