Joe M. Norman, former Madison and Polk county farmer, died of a kidney infection, Wednesday December 5th, at a hospital in Dallas, Texas after a two year illness at the age of 79 years.
Mr. Norman was raised on a farm near Van Meter, and farmed north of Des Moines before moving to Dallas 29 years ago. He and his wife, the former Winnie Smith had been married 57 years.
Burial was held at Houston.
Survivors in addition to his wife, are a son, Fletcher Norman of Huston, Texas, a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Hillman of Dallas, and two brothers, Earl Norman of Jefferson township and Clarence Norman of Des Moines. He also leaves three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
