Winterset, IowaMRS DORA LOWDEN DIES AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Dora Lowden of Winterset died at Madison county Memorial hospital Tuesday, April 10 after an extended period of failing health. She was 86 years of age.
Mrs. Lowden was a long-time resident of Adair county, but had been living in Winterset recently.
She was the mother of Ora Lowden of Greenfield and Mrs. Pearl Augustine of Winterset. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Huffman of Winterset, Mrs. Della McKay of Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Gerie Johnson of Creston.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by a Greenfield funeral service.
Attend Lowden Services At Greenfield
A number of relatives and friends attended funeral services for Mrs. Dora Lowden at Bickford Funeral Home in Greenfield Friday. They included Mr. and Mrs. Emory Goodenberger, Mrs. Laura Ladd, Mrs. Minnie Burkheimer, Miss Bell Laizure, Mrs. Orla DeVault, Mrs. Buenos Harper, Mrs. Sydney Morris, Mrs. Fred Eyerly, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Drake, Henry Sweet, Ray Roberts, Fred Binns, Mrs. Earl Crawford, Mrs. Eldon Beaman, Mrs. Pearle Cline, Mrs. Myrtle Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lowden, Mrs. Clarence Lowden, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Mitchell, Mrs. Wayne Kile, Mrs. Doris Wharff, Dale Mitchell, Walker Huffman, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Augustine, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Robinson, Lucy Huffman and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lowden of Truro.

Winterset, IowaLOWDEN SERVICES HELD AT GREENFIELD
Funeral services were held April 13 from the Bickford Funeral home in Greenfield for Mrs. Dora Lowden, whose death occurred April 10 at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. The Rev. A. R. Weed of Lamoni officiated the service. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
Mrs. Lowden was 86 years of age at her death. She was the former Dora Iva Mitchell, daughter of William and Elizabeth Graver Mitchell, and was born Sept. 1, 1869, near Solon in Johnson county. Her early life was spent in Johnson and Adair counties with the exception of four years in Kansas.
She was married Aug. 1, 1889 to W. F. Lowden at Greenfield. They spent their married life on a farm in Grand River township of Adair county except for a brief period in Greenfield. Following the death of her husband in 1953, Mrs. Lowden moved to Winterset.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Augustin of Winterset; a son, Orie Lowden of Greenfield, five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Huffman of Winterset, Mrs. Delia McKay of Kansas City, and Mrs. Gertrude Johnson of Creston.
