Word has been received here of the death of John W. Radebaugh, former Madison county Farm Bureau agent, at his home in Washington, Friday July 22. Mr. Radebaugh who was 62 years of age, had been in poor health for some time.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 24th at the Methodist church at Rippey, the Rev. Toole officiating and burial was made in the family plot in the Rippey cemetery.
Mr.Radebaugh was born in Ohio and moved to Rippey with his parents when he was a youth. He was graduated from the liberal arts college of Simpson, and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was engaged in school work until 1918, and for a time served as county superintendent of schools in Warren county. Later he became connected with the Farm Bureau and was agent in Madison and Emmett counties. He was compelled to give up his work when his health failed, his serious illness being inducted by an attack of sleeping sickness he had while here. Since 1928 he has lived in Washington.
He leaves his wife, who was the former Miss Lulu Lucas and a son, John Radebaugh Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri and five brothers and one sister.

John W. Radebaugh, 62, died at his home in Washington, Iowa, Friday morning, July 23, his death terminating a long period of illness. Funeral services were held at Rippey, Sunday, July 24, and interment was at Rippey.
For the last nine years Mr. Radebaugh had been a victim of paralysis agitans which rendered him inactive and halted an active and useful career. His illness became critical about a week before his death.
Mr. Radebaugh was born November 1, 1869, at Lancaster, Ohio, and came to Iowa with his parents when a boy, the family locating at Rippey. He attended Simpson college and was graduated with the degree of bachelor of arts. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
He was engaged in school work until 1918 and for a time was principal of high school and later county superintendent of schools. Later he became connected with the farm Bureau and was county agent in Madison and Emmet counties. He was compelled to give up his work when his health failed, his serious illness being induced by an attack of influenza. He moved to Washington in July 1928.
He was united in marriage to Lulu Lucas on February 10, 1905, his wife and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Lucas of Indianola, surviving him.
Mr. Radebaugh was a member of the Methodist church and was active in its work frequently substituted in the pulpit for the pastor. He was a member of the Masonic order and was a past master of the lodge at Indianola.
Besides his widow he is survived by one son, John W. Radebaugh, Jr., of St. Louis, and by his brothers and sisters: Roy of Cedar Rapids, Minnesota; Will and Russell of Rippey; Harry of California; Mrs. Stella Fowler of Kearney, Nebraska, and Mrs. Susan Dunham of California.
