Funeral Services Held Last Thursday at Barney Church
Clinton M. Simmerman, long-time resident of Monroe township, died Tuesday, Jan. 27th, at his home near Winterset. He was 61 years old.
Mr. Simmerman was born Jan. 8, 1887, in Stark county, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Simmerman. He came with his parents to Iowa in 1888. They settled on a farm in Clarke county, later moving to Monroe township in Madison county, which was his home until the death of his mother. After that he lived with his brother, Alfred Simmerman for several years.
Nearest surviving relatives are two brothers, Alfred Simmerman of Lorimor and Walt Simmerman of Kooskia, Ida.
Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Barney church in charge of the Rev. C. A. Calkins of Lorimor. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
