Death of Mrs. Sarah Proctor

Funeral services were held Sunday for Mrs. Sarah Sophia Proctor. Mrs. Proctor passed away Saturday morning at the home of her son J. W. Killiam. Mrs. Proctor has been in ill health for several years. Services were conducted Monday at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church by Reverend A. R. Weed and Reverend A. P. Keast.

Mrs. Proctor was the daughter of James and Sarah Smith. She was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, February 27, 1843 where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Aron Camp in 1866. Two children were born to this union, J. E. Camp who preceded his mother in death and a daughter, Blanch. Following the death of her husband she and her children came with her parents to Iowa. December 1876 she was married to Timothy Killam. In the eighties they moved to Adair county and Mr. Killam died a few years ago. One son was born to this union, J. W. Killam with whom she has made her home. March 1st, 1911 she was married to G. M. D. Proctor. Since the death of Mr. Proctor she has made her home with her son.

Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Music was furnished by a quartette, Mr. amd Mrs. B. J. Hollen, Mrs. Harrison, Robert Stark and Mrs. Myles Young III, accompanist. Pallbearers were Frank Fox, Harry Bingaman, Ed Savage, Will Roberts, Len Roberts and George Sawyer.

Mrs. Proctor was a sister of Mrs. Elizabeth Leinard and Mrs. M. C. Leinard of Winterset, Mrs. J. A. Hale of Des Moines and Mrs. T. M. Daniels of Salina, Kansas, J. N. Smith of Jamaica and M. J. Smith of near Winterset.
