Page 1Death of Mrs. Minnie Algoe
Mrs. Minnie Algoe, a well known Madison county resident, died at her home on West Washington street, early Saturday morning. Mrs. Algoe had only been ill for a few days with pneumonia, but her condition was critical.
The deceased was 67 years of age. The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted her funeral services at the church Monday afternoon, March 14th at 2 o'clock and burial was in the Winterset cemetery. Neighbors and friends served as pallbearers: Arthur Jones, Asa Armstrong, Ora Haines, Charles Breeding, Dale Bond and Cheryl Ruth.
Livingston, Illinois was the birthplace of the deceased and she married to Robert A. Algoe February 6, 1884. The father died July 9, 1923. Their five children survive her: David and Clarence of Peru, Mary at home, John of Vail and Mrs. Willard Criss of Winterset. She also leaves four brothers and four sisters, most of whom reside in Illinois. Mrs. Algoe was a member of the Methodist church and the Women's Relief Corps.

A number of relatives and friends were here Monday, March 14 to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Minnie Algoe, which were held at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
The group included Mr. and Mrs. William Wolf and son Clifton, of Woodstock, Mrs. Frank Gschwendiner and sons, Bernard and Francis, Mrs. Ed Eisenhower, Mrs. Hugo Holzhauer and son Edwin, John Wolf and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Wolf, all of Pontiac, Illinois; Henry Wolf of Cornell, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Algoe of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Algoe of Duncombe, Mrs. Everett Danielson of Harcourt, Mrs. Guy Fansher, Mrs. Ambrose of Creston, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Snyder of Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Snyder of Lake City, Harry and Robert Anderson and Everett Crane of Denison.

Mrs. Minnie Algoe, one of the well known residents of Winterset, died at her home in Winterset Saturday morning at 2:45, following a short illness with pneumonia. The Rev. A. P. Keast was in charge of the funeral services which were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church; burial was in the Winterset cemetery. Pallbearers were Arthur Jones, Asa Armstrong, Ora Haines, Charles Breeding, Dale Bond, and Cheryl Ruth.
Mrs. Algoe was the daughter of John and Margaret Wolf and was born in Livingston county, Illinois, June 7, 1864. Her marriage to Robert A. Algoe, who died July 9, 1923, took place February 6, 1884.
She leaves her five children, David and Clarence Algoe of Peru; John Algoe of Winterset; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her brothers, Henry Wolf of Cornell, Illinois; William Wolf of Woodstock, John and Chris Wolf of Pontiac, Illinois; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Gschwendtner, Mrs. Hugo Holzhauer, Mrs. Ed Eisenbower and Mrs. William Hack, all of Pontiac, Illinois. A sister, Mrs. Lottie Ellis died in 1893.
Mrs. Algoe became a member of the Lutheran church when a young woman and later transferring her membership to the Methodist church in Winterset. She was a member of the Woman’s Relief Corps.
